Christmas Lights - November 26th

This are our Christmas lights. They don't look like Clark Griswold's house on Christmas Vacation (w/Chevy Chase) but I am proud of them because it's my first time putting the lights up. It took me forever and I almost developed a phobia for heights. I bought a full cart of lights and accessories from Tarh-shay (Target). Of course I didn't use all of them and returned those that were not used (alot), I just didn't want to get back to the store just for that 2 ft spot that with missing lights.

Jill wanted the icicle lights and I wanted color, so I got both and put some in the house and some in the three. Maybe next year I'll get some more all I know is that expectations are high as Dad raised the bar really high.

Girl's Weekend - Boulder

The sisters head on up the mountain!

Fondue Fun! It was quite the birthday celebration for Rachel, Ellen and Laura!

Dinner at Casa Lezama...

Boulder was the chosen location for this year's "girl's weekend"! I was very excited to hear that my Aunt Rachel, Aunt Diana, cousin Ellen, cousin Laura and Mom would be coming for a visit. We did all kinds of fun "girly" things: went to the Spa, went for Fondue (Esteban can't handle waiting for bites of meat to cook - but I love it!), went hiking in Chataqua and of course went shopping! Boulder will never be the same!!

The Fray at Red Rocks - September 30th

Our last concert for the summer was September 30th. The night was perfect. The weather was at that point where you’re comfortable with or without a jacket… so, perfect! We went to see our local boys, The Fray! We saw them back in June in a smaller venue by the Pepsi Center called Citylights Pavilions. It was really nice to see them twice during the summer and compare how they perform in both big and small venues.

For the first concert, I went with crutches. The handy cap sticker was really nice because we parked really close and seats where nice. Jill was ready to tackle anybody that would get too close to me. It was really nice, more sort of personal.

Red Rocks was awesome too, I think they sold out. Before they started, they play a video about them being on the road. It was really cool. People sang along were some of the favorites songs will play on the background! Our seats were nice, we had a nice view to the stage and Denver.

How to Save a Life is their CD and if I had to choose my favorite three songs, those will be: How to Save a Life, Over My Head (Cable Car) and Look After You. Overall their CD is great but they’re awesome live and grateful of us, the fans!

Here’s a short clip of one song, my batteries were dying! :(

Red Rocks - September 17th

With a broken leg most of the summer I didn't do much other than watching the world cup and letting Jill take care of me. I know tough life, huh! When the Dr. finally gave me green light to go hike we went to Red Rocks for a short hike.

This picture (left, click on it) is one of five or six tries! (Sigh) Just thinking of it I get tired. I had the camera in a tripod and had to run all the way down in 10 secs to make it on time. With a recovering leg and a downhill rocky terrain it was... well, hard! Then I had to hike back up again to set up the camera... that times 5... So, yeah, I got tired. The leg survived but it was shaky afterwards and we had not started the hike yet. We made it! It was fun!! Love the place.

Colorado Rapids vs FC Dallas Playoffs 10/22

This was the last game for the Colorado Rapids at Invesco Field. It was the first playoff match against FC Dallas who beat the Rapids 2-1. They will play again in Dallas next weekend and hopefully the Rapids will make it to the finals. We had fun at the game even though it was suppose to snow, but luckily it didn't it was just cold.

Tickets were nice and courtesy of my company. Because of the saving I decided to buy a rapids jersey and a flag which were on sale… a really good sale! It may be because the rapids will have a new stadium in Commerce City just about 20 mins north Denver for next season and possible changing jerseys

The Rapids scored first and had many opportunities but unfortunately they didn’t scored again. The first goal from Dallas shouldn’t have counted as the ball was out of bounds during the play but thanks to the referee it did.

First Snow - Primera Nevada

Here's the house right after our first snow last Wednesday October 18th. It was crazy, because the morning was sunny and boom, at noon it started snowing for almost six hours. It all melted by next day in the afternoon! Yup, that's shinny Colorado!

Go Spartans!

After 10 months....the flag is finally flying proud in Colorado:) (Despite the fact that we have lost our last 4 football games!). Oh - and this was Esteban's first time using his new drill. It was quite the event. As he told me when we were walking out of Home Depot with his power tool, "I am now officially a man". Ah, men and their tools!!

ALL DONE - GO RIGHT THROUGH FOR MSU!

Chiles

Mis semillas de chile mashito están creciendo como locas y ya se convirtieron en plantitas que reverdean rebonito. Tengo cuatro macetitas de las cuales una parece un bosque... chequen dato.

Avalanche vs. Red Wings - 9/25/06

Esteban was given tickets to the pre-season Avs vs. Red Wings game....and they were in the Company Suite! It was so much fun - and Esteban especially enjoyed the free hot dogs and wings. A little bit too much - he was actually sick later. But when asked if he would do it all over again he replied" shua yeah"! Men are so crazy when it comes to free food - well at least my man is:)!

During the game a fight broke out between Bootland and May, pretty cool stuff...

The Avs came back to tie the game with 30 seconds left in the game! Because of this shot Esteban and I saw our first hockey shoot-out ever:)! And the Avs won!

Introduction

We are finally catching up with everyone else and creating our blog! We think it will be a great way for us to stay connected with our friends and family so far away. I think that Esteban will do some writing in Spanish and I will write in English - so everyone can practice their language skills! I'm excited to begin this process and we hope that you all enjoy! The photo is a blast from the past but I think it is kind of fun to have on the blog:) Welcome to our page!
